A practice is a skillful technique for opening our hearts and minds, for giving us insight into who we are and what we are to do, as well as for helping us regulate our emotions. Repeated over time, contemplative practices bring about radical transformations in the quality of life we experience.  This is not an idle wish; this is a documented phenomenon.  

A practice is a pathway to creating an artful life.

Whether you are undertaking a reflective practice for the first time, or have a lifetime satisfying practice, honing your mindfulness skills on a regular basis is essential.  Join Lezlie at The Yoga Shala in Orlando to explore these skills through a three-session book group that explores Michael Singer’s brilliant book The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself.   In these sessions, we will discuss exactly what Singer is saying about developing a clear understanding of who we are, and we will practice using his strategies for insight to our own life experiences.

What you will learn:

  • how our suffering is based in three precepts that the Buddha taught—

  • attachment, resistance, and non-acceptance of what is

  • insight into how we lay down obstacles that keep us from our innate joy 

  • a powerful practice for releasing self-originating suffering. 

These three sessions will be exploratory, inquisitive, and highly conversational.  We’re not analyzing this text; we’re examining it to see just how the practices Singer presents can be incorporated into our own lives, so that we may live with more joy and ease. This is one of my top-ten favorite books.  And I am thrilled to share it with an eager group of fellow-seekers.
