For our intentions and goals to gain true momentum, we need a deep, abiding, reflective practice. In the first three months of 2019, join Lezlie for three book study groups that explore powerful practices for transformation, and how to apply that practice to your life. Each study group is a practical experience for managing your life in fruitful ways. And with two groups offered for each book that is studied, you have more options to fit your schedule.

The first book we’ll examine is Pema Chödrön’s small and highly readable book, Start Where You Are.  In this lovely book Pema Chödrön introduces the Buddhist practice of lojong, which means “mind training,” as well as the loving-kindness practice that accompanies lojong teachings.  She frames her teachings on compassion and mindfulness around fifty-nine Tibetan Buddhist maxims, or slogans, that support us in working with the ups and downs of daily life as a path of enlightenment.

In each of the four sessions, we will study 6 of the book’s chapters, and we will practice loving-kindness meditation as Chödrön directs us.  When we find that we are closing down to ourselves, to others, or to life, this is a practice for awakening our hearts and living more authentically.  In addition, and most importantly, we’ll examine practical circumstances from our own lives through the lens of these teachings.

What People Are Saying

“I have been so blessed by your love, encouragement and accountability. I am truly excited to wake up each morning to see what comes, and believe that I can be productive and satisfied. I think what I am feeling is “alive” for the first time in years, and I attribute so much of this growth to you. Thank you so very much for being your fabulous self, for believing in me, and for modeling everything you believe to be true about having an abundant, joyful life.”
