In his blog post this morning, Seth Godin talks about asking new students in his MBA training program to write a short bio and submit a picture. "A week later, we share the nicely laid out PDF with the extraordinary class that has been assembled and then give people a week to update their bio for mistakes, etc.
Inevitably, the bios (and the photos) get better. A lot better.
It's not because people didn't try the first time. It's because being surrounded by people on the same journey as you causes you to level up.
Your path forward is pretty simple: Decide on your journey and find some people who will cause you to level up."
This was a nicely serendipitous message to receive today, just as I was putting together my own blog post about our upcoming Creative Momentum Gathering here at LifeArt Studio. Do you need to "level up" in some part of your life? Would it help to be around other people who are also dedicated to improving one arena of their lives?
If so, you might be interested in joining a small group of interesting people gathering here this coming Thursday evening, April 28, from 7:00-9:00 p..m. We'll talk about how to be more focused and more dedicated to sharpening the growth edges in our lives. We'll check in with Foundational Practices. We'll share new projects. And we'll tackle obstacles we're facing. There will be stories, dialogue, questions, and inspiration. And of course, a nice glass of wine.
Contact me at lezlielaws.com to reserve your space. There is no charge for this event, and I would love to have you join the conversation.
